Essential Land, in association with our Joint Venture Funding Partners has acquired the 19 acre Sittingbourne Mill site in Kent from M-Real for £5,650,000.
The regeneration of the historic Sittingbourne Paper Mill by Essential Land offers the prospect of an exciting new mix-used development which would kick start the wider regeneration of Sittingbourne.
Acting as development managers Essential Land intends to transform Sittingbourne Paper Mill into somewhere that is not only a great place to live but also an attractive location to visit and be entertained. The proposals cover two historically interconnected sites: the Mill site, located to the north of the railway line at the intersection between Mill Way and Milton Road; and the nearby Wharf site adjacent to Milton Creek.
A planning application was submitted in early 2011 for a mixed-use development comprising of 150 homes, a new Morrison’s superstore, leisure uses and a new waterside park.
